3 The city is a leading textile centre of the country and its clothes industry.
It has a considerable printing industry and many book-shops.
It is the main publishing, advertising and radio centre with Columbia and New York universities and various city colleges.
4. New York (1) can be called the financial capital of the world, where «money-making» (2) is the main law of life.
It (1) is the symbol of big business and its Wall Street on Manhattan Island (2) has become a nickname for big monopolies all over the world.
5. New York is a great industrial and educational centre, too.

One of the largest and most pleasant parks is Central Park where there are a number of museums.
