SimpleRockets 2 is a fully three-dimensional space simulator that allows you to build rockets, airplanes, rovers or anything you can imagine and explore highly detailed three-dimensional planets. Upload your crafts and sandboxes and share them with the community to earn points. Join us as we move into Early Access and continue to add new features such as Planet Builder and campaign mode.

We want to make sure that we are creating a game that players will like, so if you have any suggestions for the game, we want to hear them. Those who have followed our work on SimplePlanes know that we are very responsive to player feedback. We are taking another step forward with SR2 and have created a roadmap page to open up our development process and make it as transparent as possible.

Create crafts by connecting parts together. Choose from available engines such as the Mage, which is a powerful kerosene-powered engine. Or choose a very weak but highly efficient ion engine. Stretch and shape fuel tanks, wings, cargo compartments, fairings and nose fairings with easy-to-use tools that will help you create exactly what you want. Resize solar panels, wheels, pistons, shock absorbers, etc. according to your needs. Color your crafts in custom colors and change their reflectivity, emissivity and texture.

Rocket science is a complicated business, so you may occasionally encounter a quick unscheduled disassembly (for example, an explosion). This happens even to the most experienced rocket scientists. You might as well accept this and take the opportunity to take some spectacular photos.


The orbits are realistically modeled and support time variation, so you don´t have to wait several months to reach another planet. Viewing the map makes it easy to see your orbits and plan future flights, which you can use to organize future meetings with other planets or satellites.

The flight model dynamically updates the aerodynamic drag and lift characteristics of your aircraft as they change. Re-entry effects are triggered when you fly through the atmosphere at hypersonic speeds. Be careful, as excessive heating can lead to the aforementioned rapid unplanned disassembly.
