Product description
The book "The Techniques of Judo" was published in 1957 (before you - the reprinted edition of 1998). The author of the book, Shindzo Takagami, is a very authoritative figure in world judo. Still - he was lucky to be a student of Kano himself!
The book contains almost all the basic techniques of judo - including such rare in our days as atemi and painful techniques. It is noteworthy that Shinzo Takagami taught his followers not to get carried away by throwing (which is now a visiting card of modern judo and without which this fight would not have happened right now), but to combine with them painful, suffocating tricks, as well as (!) Atemi. It was in this qualitative composition, as he believed, that judo became a deadly weapon.
