Product description
616. For a solution of polystyrene in methyl ethyl ketone 1.22 g / 100 cm3, the dependence of the refractive index of light on concentration is expressed by the value dn / dc equal to 0.231 cm3 / g at a wavelength of 436 nm. The refractive index of light in methyl ethyl ketone is 1.377. When light passes through 1.00 cm of this solution, the intensity decreases to 0.9773 of the initial value. Calculate the optical scattering constant and the molar mass of the polymer, assuming the virial coefficients to be zero.
