When determining zinc in pure aluminum by a comparison method, a sample of aluminum weighing 1.0000 g was taken, dissolved in acid and transferred to a volumetric flask with a capacity of 100.00 ml. The atomic absorption of this solution at 213.9 nm is 6.0 divisions on the scale of the instrument.
A standard solution of zinc with a concentration of 0.6000 μg Zn in 1.00 ml gives an indication on a scale of 11.5 divisions. Determine the mass fraction of zinc in aluminum.
