With the release of this add-on for Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, for the first time in the history of the franchise, it will be possible to play as Mexicans. Mexican Civilization offers an extensive list of new features, including two new explorers, a unique revolution mechanic, 8 units, 2 buildings, and a new hometown with special Mexican maps, as well as the historic battle Cry from Dolores. There will also be a special transition system to a new age: in order to continue the development of this civilization, it is necessary to annex new states, each of which offers its own supply cards and various bonuses suitable for different playstyles.
The Historical Battle of the Cry from Dolores: The Bourbon reforms boosted the power of the Spanish elites, while the influence of the Church was undermined. This process caused discontent among the rural population of Mexico. When Spain was invaded by the troops of Napoleon Bonaparte, the fervent sermon of a Catholic priest ignited the fire of the revolution.
BONUS: Players who own the Mexican civilization and the United States civilization also have access to the historical Battle of Queenston Heights.
