Age of Empires is a series of real-time strategy video games originally released in 1997 by Ensemble Studios. The series is based on historical events in Europe, Africa and Asia, such as the expansion of the Roman Empire, the Spanish conquest of Mexico, and the colonization of America and Asia. Medieval battlefield
Age of Empires IV is set in the medieval period, with 4 campaigns and 35 missions each featuring events spanning five hundred years. Players will be able to lead one of 8 different civilizations such as the British, the Mongols, the Chinese, the Delhi Sultanate, the Abbasid dynasty and the French. However, Relic does not stop there and plans to further expand civilizations. The gameplay for each of them is slightly different, as the developers have taken care to take into account their individual weaknesses and strengths, which makes the gameplay unique. Between each mission, a short documentary is shown, bringing players closer to the historical background of the game and the upcoming adventures.

In addition, the game features historical figures such as the French heroine and icon Joan of Arc, which players have already been able to impersonate during the Age of Empires II campaign.
