121. Solving a chemistry problem
Content: 321.rar 36,49 kB
Product description
At 20°C, a globular (approximately spherical) protein has a sedimentation constant in water of 3.50*10-13 s. (a) What is the sedimentation rate of a molecule in a centrifuge operating at 50,000 rpm at a distance of 6.0 cm from the rotation axis ? (b) How long does it take for a molecule to travel from 6.0 to 7.0 cm from the x-axis? (c) what is the coefficient of friction (at a specific protein volume of 0.731 cm3/g and a water density of 0.998 g/cm3)? (d) Calculate the diffusion coefficient in the same way.
