Barotrauma is a multiplayer 2D submarine simulator in the survival horror genre. Influenced by games such as FTL: Faster Than Light, RimWorld, Dwarf Fortress and Space Station 13, this sci-fi game combines rag doll physics, underwater alien monsters, teamwork and overwhelming fear.

In the not very distant future, people have traveled to a moon of Jupiter. Its radioactive surface is covered with ice, so life exists only in the ocean. Travel through the harsh underwater world, befriend or fight with four local factions. Find out what´s hidden in the depths of Europe.

Barotrauma has plenty of ways to have fun, but just as many ways to die. Work together with your crew to achieve your goals, or prepare to be betrayed if there is a traitor on board. Play together with friends, strangers or your worst enemies.

EXPLORE, MANAGE, COMMUNICATE
Travel underwater, complete missions for the last representatives of humanity, explore the ruins of an alien civilization, fight monsters or run away from them. Control complex onboard systems such as sonar, nuclear reactor, weapons, engines and pumps. Communication is of the utmost importance!

EXPERIMENT, MAKE, CREATE
Set up complex on-board wiring, a complex fabrication system and a medical bay. Using the built-in editors, create your own submarines and monsters that can compete with ordinary ones. You can even break into our code and change everything.
Peculiarities

- It’s better to play in online mode - gather from 2 to 16 players on a submarine. The number of players can be increased through bots. A single-player mode is also available and will be developed further.
- 6 classes of players with different skills and tasks: captain, engineer, mechanic, doctor, security officer and assistant.
- Procedurally generated map and missions and multiple game modes will keep you playing this game over and over again.
- Built-in submarine, character and procedurally generated animation editors. Find and share mods directly in the Steam Workshop.
- All data is presented in XML format, and the program code is publicly available on GitHub.
