Hack ’n’ Slash is an adventure puzzle game about hacking: reprogramming object properties, hacking global variables, customizing creature behavior, and even changing program code! The game is in early access, so you can help us improve it before it goes live. And remember, the only way to win is to play… not by the rules!

The wizard has ordered all the villagers not to leave their village, and the castle forge has begun to forge weapons so powerful that no one is allowed to wield them. And anyone who dares to find the Fairy and demonstrate their courage will face certain death. New laws have been passed for your own good, but you didn’t buy it! You will show everyone what real courage is, and if you are smart enough, you will be able to uncover the real reasons why everything went wrong.

Your sword can hack many objects. You will find magical artifacts that will allow you to change the global variables of the world at your own discretion! Get equipment that will give you the opportunity to see the inner workings of the game and discover things that are not intended for prying eyes!

As you improve your hacking skills, you will be able to dive into the very heart of the game, find yourself in randomly generated dungeons and change the game´s program code in real time.

The puzzles have a lot of solutions that we did not even know about. Gradually acquiring skills in hacking, you will be able to modify and customize the game as you wish!

DEVELOPMENT PLAN
The game is launching in Early Access, which gives players the opportunity to join the development process and help improve the mechanics and puzzle design. Here’s a quick roadmap of what we want to add to the game first, and what we want to hear from you!

◼️ Final Dungeon
There is currently no final dungeon in the game. This is where you combine all of your acquired skills and gear to defeat the wizard and restore peace to the kingdom. We expect the puzzles to be carefully tailored to the various mechanics of the game, so we want to hear your thoughts on these mechanics before we write the ending of the story. Play through the game to the final dungeon, then come to the discussions and tell us what you’d like to see next. We’ll use this information to build an ending that best suits the game.

◼️ Additional Puzzles
The game is designed to be completed by anyone who is smart enough and enjoys solving puzzles, whether technical or not. The game also requires numerous additional puzzles, and we want to tie them into the secrets of this world. We want to know which part of the kingdom or a specific mechanic piqued your interest the most. With this information, we can dig deeper and bury many secrets in the game that will challenge players and at the same time shed light on aspects that are important to you.
