Rust is a multiplayer game by the independent British company Facepunch Studios, best known for Garry´s Mod (2004), powered by the Source engine. The game has influences from DayZ, Minecraft and Stalker. The game was originally a clone of DayZ, which Facepunch Studios decided to create due to the lack of reliability of the original. Over time, Rust introduced animals, hunting, crafting, armor, and other features.
To survive, the player must collect resources and craft items. Resources include clothing, food, wood, and other items. Some of the items can be obtained from the wild life of the island. From the start of the game, a list of weapons, clothing and building materials that need to be obtained is issued. As you progress, you come across blueprints, according to which you can make advanced items. Blueprints can be found in hidden boxes, from killed NPCs, in property stolen from other players´ bases. All this time, the player is threatened by hunger, hypothermia, attack by animals, drowning, getting into areas with increased radiation and other dangers. Finally, the world is full of bandits and zombies.
