The series became a trilogy in 1995 with the release of SAMURAI SHODOWN III, and was soon followed by SAMURAI SHODOWN IV AMAKUSA´S REVENGE, released in 1996. Seven years later, in 2003, a new game in the series appeared – SAMURAI SHODOWN V, followed by a special edition of SAMURAI SHODOWN V SPECIAL, released the following year on the NEOGEO console... The new SAMURAI SHODOWN NEOGEO COLLECTION also includes a previously unreleased game. SAMURAI SHODOWN V PERFECT is the mysterious final version of SAMURAI SHODOWN V SPECIAL. Players can choose between Japanese or English versions of MVS arcades for each game in the collection. Other features include lines on the screen typical of retro games, save functions and Arcade Mode with adjustable settings – no more defeats!
