Seventy-year-old Ozerova, under a life annuity contract, gave Klyuev the ownership of a log house for free. According to the contract, a life annuity was established in favor of Ozerova and her two sisters - 74 years old Yulia and 78 years old Tatyana - and had to be paid to each of them in an amount equal to the minimum wage during their lifetime. Two years later, Tatyana died, and soon, during a thunderstorm, a lightning bolt struck the television antenna installed by Klyuev on the house without a lightning conductor. The house caught fire and completely burned out. Klyuev stopped paying rent. Then Ozerova filed a lawsuit in court, in which she asked the court to terminate the life annuity contract and oblige Klyuev to pay her the cost of the burned house.
