Stronghold Crusader 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the original castle sim, Stronghold: Crusader. After 12 years, Stronghold returns to 1189 in the deserts of the Middle East, but with a new 3D engine and a realistic system of breaking castles, created using Havok Physics. Firefly Studios recreates an authentic castle simulator with fast, addictive gameplay.
True to its roots, the new Stronghold is an old-school game that combines elements of real-time strategy and city-building simulator. Choosing between the brutal Crusader Knights or the Arab freedom fighters, you will have to lead huge armies and siege equipment into battle to decide the fate of the Holy Lands. Join the war on behalf of Richard the Lionheart or the Sultan of Syria in two historic single player campaigns, where you will be accompanied by dynamic events such as tornadoes and plagues of the locust. Become the greatest Lord by taking the reins of the economy in the desert while maintaining control of vital oases.
To dominate the battlefield, you will need mastery of over 25 unique unit types with special abilities. Raise the morale of your troops with the help of the Royal NCOs, rush into the battle with a squad of Sassanid knights, unleash a volley of arrows at the enemy from the strong bows of the Archers, or capture the enemy´s castle, skillfully using the silent Assassins. Once your skills are honed, test your skills in skirmish mode or fight online against 8 players and AI Lords. Organize teams, choose different AI opponents and create your own maps for skirmish and multiplayer!
