The authorities of the preliminary investigation Levin was accused of causing death by negligence.
In November, adults Levin, Malakhov, Zaev, Rubin, and Salakhov arrived on a hunting winter hut. After drinking a bottle of wine at dinner and leaving the house, they began to take turns shooting at empty cans and bottles from a makeshift gun. After firing several shots, Salakhov, Zaev and Rubin returned and sat at the table by the window, covered with two layers of plastic film, and Levin and Malakhov continued to shoot.
At about 6 p.m., at dusk, Levin (he was short-sighted and in a state of intoxication) loaded his gun and, with cocked trigger, began to run around the winter house in search of a larger target. Running past the window, he tripped and, falling, involuntarily pulled the trigger of a gun. A shot occurred, as a result of which Salakhov was inflicted a penetrating gunshot wound to the left half of the chest, from which death occurred.
The court acquitted Levin of the lack of corpus delicti in his actions.
