Tamriel Unlimited was a rebranding of The Elder Scrolls Online game coinciding with the change in the payment model for the game, starting from March 17, 2015 for PC/Mac, and from June 9, 2015 for PS4/Xbox One and consoles.
Instead of requiring both the purchase of the game and a monthly subscription fee, the only mandatory payment for players was the initial price of the game itself. This initial purchase provides full access to the so-called "base" game and all content released before Update 6 inclusive.
Players can continue to pay monthly for an ESO Plus premium account, which will provide monthly in-game currency scholarships (called Crown Store Crowns), boosting character development and access to all DLC while your membership is active. If you don´t want to pay a monthly fee, you can also purchase the DLC individually.
Simultaneously with the release of "Tamriel Unlimited", an in-game store was introduced - a Crown store selling "cosmetics and convenience" goods.
From March 17, all existing PC/Mac players were automatically switched to the "Tamriel Unlimited" payment model; any remaining subscription time was converted to ESO Plus, even if players decided to cancel their ESO Plus membership rather than renew it after the time expired. All players were awarded free crowns based on how long they had previously been signed.
The ESO subscriber loyalty program was discontinued after the release of "Tamriel Unlimited".

After the release of the Gold Edition in September 2016 and the One Tamriel update in October 2016, "Tamriel Unlimited" was removed from the branding of the game.
