"Vanishing of Ethan Carter" is an amazing mystical story, enclosed in the form of a first-person game. There are no fights, explosions and all that. If the game leaves any scars, they will not be the ones you can see.
In the game, you act as Paul Prospero, a psychic detective who received a letter from a boy named Ethan Carter. Feeling that the boy is in great danger, Paul comes to Ethan in Red Creek Valley. However, the situation turns out to be much worse than expected. Ethan disappeared immediately after a brutal murder, which, as Paul quickly realizes, is not the only local murder worth investigating. "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter" is inspired by early twentieth century supernatural literature and aims to take the narrative aspect of games to the next level. While there is a private detective and a few mental puzzles, "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter" is not about them. It is about atmosphere, mood, and the humanity of the characters.
However, the insights will not come on their own or without your help. Using Paul´s uncanny ability to communicate with the dead and your own powers of observation, you will uncover the mystery that is leaving a trail of corpses, discover the source of the ancient dark force that has taken over Red Creek Valley, and learn the fate of the missing boy.
