Thesis on the topic: Novgorod land XII-XV centuries.

Novgorod feudal republic is of great interest, in itself the name "republic" was impossible in relation to the times of the rule of princes and the formation of statehood. It is known that the republic is a form of government in which the power is exercised by elected bodies elected by the population, which, in principle, was excluded in those times, but still, Veliky Novgorod emerged, defining its own rules, by means of the power of the people. From a small settlement created by the tribe, Slovenia is growing, changing, transforming the Novgorod land, which does not look like its neighbors. There are questions - what contributed to this? What particular features made it possible for such a political entity? If we take the modernity as an example, after all, until now some countries cannot boast of a democratic system in their own, on the 21st century, the Novgorod formation of republican institutions dates back to the 13th century. That is why the Novgorodian land is interesting for historians, that during the period of feudal fragmentation a republic appeared, the first in the Russian land after the flourishing of the democracy of antiquity in Athens and Rome.
