Rage of Sparta - a new large-scale addition for the game Total War: ROME II, which tells about the Hellenic world, allowing players to get acquainted with the amazing events of the Peloponnesian War.

It was 432 BC. e., and the Greek polis lost peace. At the meeting of the Peloponnesian Union, the showy prosperity of the Athenians aroused dissatisfaction between Sparta, Corinth and Boeotia, irreversibly breaking the political balance.

But, although the factions united against the Athenians, each of them has its own goals. From the outcome of the conflict depends the future of all Greece and the one who will dominate the Hellenic world.

The Persian Empire watches and waits. The Persians are preparing troops to use the excitement of the Greeks for their own benefit.



Features of Rage of Sparta:

New Campaign Map
Rage of Sparta illustrates the earliest historical period among all the games of the Total War series. The game map in detail and vividly reproduces the Greek world 432 BC with 22 provinces in 78 regions, covering the continental lands, islands and the coast of the Ionian Sea. On the map you will meet 12 new wonders, including the Ruins of Troy, the Temple of Zeus and the Royal tombs in Macedonia. The timeframe here is tougher than in the main ROME II campaign: each move corresponds to one month.



Four factions for the game
In Rage of Sparta, you can play for Athens, Corinth, Sparta and Boeotia. Each faction has its own characteristics, its own set of fighters, its tests and its own starting point. The campaign includes real historical commanders and politicians, such as the Spartan commander Lysander and the Athenian philosopher Socrates.

The game reflects historical realities. So, Sparta can expose more diverse troops than other factions. Athens is stronger in sea battles.



Greek Games and Festivals
The Greeks of that time were enthusiastic athletes, held Olympic, Pythian, Isthmian and Nemean games. When the time comes for regular games, you can make a choice. Sponsor an athlete? To support the competitor? Send a messenger? Skip? Each decision can bring you both success and failure. Also in the Greek calendar was a lot of religious holidays - a chance not only to profit, but also imbued with the spirit of the era.



New branches of technology development
In the Fury of Sparta are completely new branches of technology development, reflecting the military, naval and civil achievements of those times. Six branches allow the player to develop military direction, naval, applied, philosophy, aesthetics and mathematics.


Hellenic tribal system
Represented in Fury Sparta factions, with the exception of the Persian Empire, belong to the Hellenic culture, so the "Culture" is replaced by the "Tribal system". Each of the four factions belongs to one of the Greek tribes. There will be no discontent caused by the presence of other tribes, but it will be compensated by complex diplomatic relations with those Greeks whom the fraction considers "not real."


The Persian Threat
The Persian empire is on the eastern edge of the map and hardly interferes in the affairs of the Greeks. But as one of the Greek states undermines the rest, the Persians begin military intervention to curb this new force.



New sets of land and sea fighters
For all new factions, new sets of fighters are prepared, corresponding to this period of Greek history. Greek factions rely on hoplites. Other types of troops perform a supporting role in combat scenarios and diversify tactical techniques. There are small but more specialized mercenaries capable of rapidly strengthening the army and increasing its flexibility. You can find them in almost any province.
