Product description
Water from the river is fed through a gravity pipe of length L and diameter d to a water intake well, from which it is pumped to a water tower with a flow rate of Q. The diameter of the suction line of the pump is dВс, length - Lвс. The pump axis is located above the water level in the river by H (Fig. 1).
Given: Q = 26.6l / s = 0.0266m3 / s; d = 150mm = 0.15m; dВС = 150mm = 0.15m; L = 100m; LBC = 10m; H = 3.0m
It is required to determine:
1. Pressure at the pump inlet (gauge reading in section 2-2), expressed in meters of water.
2. How will the vacuum in this section change if water is supplied to the well through two pipes of the same diameter d?
