Where the Water Tastes Like Wine is a narrative adventure game about travel, story sharing and survival in manifest destiny. Thanks to the magnificent hand-drawn illustrations, where water tastes like wine, 2D graphics are combined with a 3D map of the world of the USA.
Players travel through the folkloric Depression-era United States at their own pace, meeting strangers who can tell their stories. Through these interactions, players will be able to collect unique stories that can then be retold to unlock new interactions. Thus, in-game stories themselves act as a currency for moving through the game, and it is up to the player to determine how appropriate a story meets the unique needs of each of the characters you encounter during your travels. Only through such correct combinations will the characters reveal their true selves and give you the most powerful stories, true ones that reveal something about their own lives. In "Where Water Tastes Like Wine," stories organically take on a life of their own as they get bigger and transform as they are told-and retold anew.
