Ashen is an open-world cooperative action RPG game about a wanderer who wanders in search of a place to make his home.

Multiplayer game with passive cooperation
As you roam the vast open world of Ashen, you´ll encounter other players from time to time, much like you would in the passive multiplayer Journey. It is up to you to decide how to behave - to fight evil together, invite you to your group or silently pass by.

Like Souls, but with a twist
Ashen uses a stamina combat system (in the style of Dark Souls) and offers players a wide expanse of a harsh but inviting world. However, there is a peculiarity: the constantly changing gameplay. Whether it´s unexplored swamps, untrodden fjords, or looking for prey in an ancient palace, the direction of events can change dramatically at any moment, depending on where you are. It´s a brutal open world, and you just live here.

Creatures and fights
Ashen has no shortage of dangerous encounters, from cunning enemies to local vicious creatures. It is much more profitable to explore the world around and its inhabitants, to think over an adventure plan in advance than to act simply at random. The flora and fauna of this world is not only fantastic, but often deadly. Any skirmish, even the most ordinary, can lead to the most unpleasant consequences.

How important it is to master the craft!
When meeting survivors, you can invite them to your City. And these are not just wanderers, but potential helpers who have a wide variety of craft skills - from blacksmithing to gathering food.

Mark Lawrence, acclaimed fantasy writer (Empire Shattered trilogy), and acclaimed band Foreign Fields have worked closely with the development team at Aurora44 to create a captivating, quirky tale with a unique musical accompaniment.

The wanderer accompanies a disconsolate mother in search of her daughter. Far from the ash-sheltered familiar shores, players descend into the dangerous depths of Nightstorm Isle. Down there, countless nightmares lurk, but even they will not prepare for the ancient evil imprisoned in the depths.
