Optimization of checkpoint operations on the territory of container terminals
Container terminal is a link in the long chain of cargo transportation. The main function is the intermediate transfer of containers between different modes of transport. Other important functions are also: intermediate storage of containers in the warehouse area, complete set of container lots. When organizing the supply of large quantities of containerized cargo in modern conditions, an important element of the supply chain is the container terminal. One of the most widely known problems is the reduction in throughput due to traffic jams at the entrances to the terminal. As a result, transport companies have to incur additional costs due to idle rolling stock in anticipation of loading and export of cargo. As a result, the delivery of goods to end users is extended.
As part of the course work, it is proposed to reduce vehicle downtime by optimizing the process of checking documents at checkpoints.
